I like pixel art and the color black. I started making OBSIDIAN GBA for myself but after getting requests for the other systems I decided to make more and release them to the public.
I had a lot of things I had to keep in mind when making them. The main points I wanted to achieve were: bigger buttons - THE BIGGEST POSSIBLE. I wanted to fix the dpads to remove diagonals, which works really well for games like Pokemon! It was very important to me that the controls are dark but not too dark. I think I found a healthy balance between the two. Lastly, I wanted to make the game screens as big as possible with no button overlap. This is a lot harder than it sounds, but it was certainly a fun challenge!
